About
A steady person to think with.
I became a therapist because I kept meeting capable people who were quietly exhausted — good at holding everything together and out of practice at being held themselves. Fifteen years later, that is still who tends to find their way to this office.
My approach is collaborative and plainspoken. I draw on cognitive-behavioral and emotionally focused methods, but the frame matters less than the fit: you should leave sessions feeling that something true was said and something useful was built. We will set direction together, revisit it often, and let the work end when it has done its job.
Outside the office I am usually on the water or failing cheerfully at bread baking. I mention this because therapy works better between two humans than between a client and a credential.
